Terms of Service — Badilisha Kituo
Effective date: 7 September 2026 Last updated: 7 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us about how Badilisha Kituo may be used. They are deliberately short and specific: every limit described below is one the product actually enforces, and every promise is one it can keep.
By creating an account, or by using the app in any other way, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.
Who we are
Badilisha Kituo ("the app", "the service") is operated by Swala Technologies Limited ("we", "us"), of Kijitonyama, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
What the service does
Badilisha Kituo helps public-service employees in Tanzania find a reciprocal workplace transfer — someone posted where you want to be, who wants to be where you are. You describe your station and where you would move to; the app compares that against everyone else's and shows you the people whose wishes mirror yours.
What the service does not do
A match is an introduction, not a transfer. We do not approve, arrange, guarantee, expedite or complete any transfer. Every posting decision remains with your employer and the relevant public-service authority, under their own procedures, and nothing in this app changes those procedures or creates any expectation about their outcome.
We are not your employer, your union, or an agent of any government body, and we are not a party to any arrangement you reach with another member.
Who may use it
You may use Badilisha Kituo if you are at least 18 years old and are employed in, or appointed to, the Tanzanian public service. The service is not intended for children and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
Your account
Your account is identified by your phone number and secured by a one-time passcode sent to it. Keep that number, and the passcodes sent to it, to yourself. Anyone holding them can sign in as you.
You are responsible for what is done through your account. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has reached it.
Accurate information
The matching engine compares what you tell it, so what you tell it has to be true. You must give accurate account, employment and transfer-request details, and keep them current. Verification documents you submit must be your own and unaltered.
We may review, request, verify or reject any information you provide, and we may remove a profile whose details we have reason to believe are false.
What you may not do
- Impersonate another person, or create an account on someone else's behalf without their knowledge.
- Ask for or offer money, gifts or favours in exchange for a transfer, a match or an introduction. Badilisha Kituo is not a brokerage and must not be used as one.
- Harass, threaten, defraud or abuse another member.
- Collect, copy, publish or resell other members' details, whether by hand or by any automated means.
- Interfere with the service — probing, overloading, or attempting to reach accounts, data or systems that are not yours.
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or in breach of your own conditions of service.
Consent before contact
Private messaging and the exchange of contact details require mutual interest: neither of you can reach the other until both of you have chosen to. You may withdraw that interest, block another member or report unsafe behaviour at any time, and blocking is immediate.
Verification
Verification tells other members that we have seen documents supporting your identity and employment. It is a check, not a guarantee, and it says nothing about whether a transfer will be approved. We may grant, refuse or withdraw it, and we will tell you when we do.
What you post
You keep ownership of everything you submit. You give us permission to store it and to show the limited parts of it that the app is designed to show — your discovery card, and what you send to members you have matched with. Documents submitted for verification are never shown to other members.
We may remove content that breaks these terms.
Suspension and removal
We may restrict, suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that misleads other members, or that puts someone's safety at risk. Where we can, we will say why and give you a way to respond; where the risk is immediate, we may act first.
You may close your account at any time from Account settings, or by asking us. What happens to your data then is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Your data
How we collect, use, share and keep your personal data — and the rights you have over it — is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Availability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may take the service down for maintenance. We will give notice of material changes where we reasonably can.
Our responsibility, and its limits
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent Tanzanian law allows:
- We are not responsible for the conduct of other members, for the accuracy of what they tell you, or for anything that happens between you outside the app.
- We are not responsible for any decision your employer or any authority makes about a transfer, or for any loss arising from one.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost earnings, opportunities or savings.
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and the courts of Tanzania have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When a change is material we will give notice in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
